To Love-Ru Series is to die for...

To Love Ru may just yet be the most popular ecchi series ever created. It follows Yuuki Rito, a normal high school boy whose life is suddenly disrupted by the appearance of an alien in the form of a beautiful young female, Lala Deviluke. He finds out that she is the heir to the throne of her home world Deviluke, and is betrothed to a male candidate, but she decides to stay on earth and marry Yuuki. The series follows a series of events, stemming from Yuuki's infatuation with a secret crush, Haruna Sairenji, as well as intergalactic assassins descending on Earth to eliminate both himself and Lala.

As mentioned above, this anime is the picture perfect example of a well crafted ecchi series, as it boasts everything from slaptstick humor, romances, drama, action, sci-fi, and a plethora of fan-service moments. To Love Ru spans three seasons of 50 episodes total + 10 OVA episodes. The third season entitled To Love Ru: Darkness truly attempts to break down that wall separating ecchi from hentai. Seikon No Qwaser poses the question "Got Milk?"...

Seikon No Qwaser is an action packed, heavily fan-serviced themed anime that has us following two schoolgirls, Mafuyu Oribe and her adopted sister Tomo, who happen to nurse back to health an injured young silver-haired Russian kid, Alexander Nikolaevich, who just also happens to be the Iron Qwaser, a super-warrior who can wield a vast array of weapons using a special sort of magical element. As a result of rescuing him, they are unfortunately thrust into his world of supernatural events, as villains of all sorts not only hunt him down, but also come in search of other elements located within the region. And here's where the story truly takes a twist...each super-warrior requires a special kind of liquid nutrition to aid in replenishing their powers, one that only women can provide. The liquid is known as Soma, but in layman's terms, holy breast milk.

This anime is quite graphic in both violence and nudity, with many episodes seriously threatening to break the barrier between ecchi and hentai. The story itself is quite entertaining and humorous at times. As a whole, there is a huge religious undertone to the plot that help serve as a basis for Alexander's crusade. Nevertheless, there is quite an inordinate amount of suckling in the anime, offering gratuitous amounts of big breasted women. Reviews however have been very positive for this anime, and it would probably still be very entertaining without the extreme ecchi themes. Seikon No Qwaser spans two seasons of 36 episodes total. Keep those tissues handy.
