Queen's Blade is yet another action packed, heavily ecchi-themed anime that follows many female warriors trying to compete in a tournament held every four years to determine the most powerful and beautiful warrior, with the ultimate goal of becoming the next Queen. Queen's Blade has spanned three series, with the first focusing on a female warrior named Leina, the esteemed heiress of the powerful Vance Family and next in line for the throne. The series follows her exploits as she traverses the countryside, making friend along the way while fighting her way towards the tournament. The second series is more or less the same as the first, as she goes to fight in the tournament again. The third series follows a new hero, Annelotte, as she aims to challenge the Queen from the previous series, who has now turned to corruption and malice.
This is the anime that revealed this reviewer to the world of Ecchi. Ironically enough, it was on Netflix at the time, fully uncensored. This anime is yet another entry in the "so gratuitous" category that it also pushes the boundaries of almost borderline hentai. It is a very entertaining series, as there is much action contained within, as well as ditzy humorous scenes taking place now and often.
